Okay, so we haven’t been keeping up with videos very well this summer, so we decided to post a bunch in one lump sum. The videos go as far back as Brian’s wedding in May, but there are some more recent ones from a friend’s birthday party and a sleepover Lauren and the kids had while Matt was in Europe. Summer Pics

One of the main ideas behind the website modernization was that updating would be easier, and we would therefore update more frequently. We also wanted to be able to post things without any specific purpose, except that we thought you might enjoy hearing about it. This post embodies that concept.
In this month alone, Brady has started Socatots, and Lauren and the kids took in the Great Yorkshire Show. In late June, Matt & Lauren went to a production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night set on the grounds of nearby Ripley Castle. The play incorporated the unique setting to create a truly memorable performance. June in England meant that it was cold and rainy, but as someone once said, the show must go on!

July 4th Weekend

Another July 4th, another cold, windy, rainy day on the base 
We shouldn’t complain too much; we managed to stay inside the tents when the torrential thunderstorms rolled through. The base puts on a decent spread, but only when viewed in the context that there isn’t another July 4th celebration within a thousand miles.
Campbell and Brady seemed to enjoy the day. Brady got his face painted as Spiderman, which is a huge step up from last year when he ran screaming from his friend Vincent’s visage. Campbell enjoyed being on Matt’s back, and got name-checked from the stage by the Ricky Martin impersonator. The entertainment left a little to be desired…

Father’s Day

Matt got back from his trip yesterday, just in time to spend a quiet Father’s Day with the family. Lauren and the kids got Matt a remote controlled boat to play with in Valley Gardens, so we bundled up and shot off to the park to beat the rain. We had lunch at Pizza Hut, then took turns taking naps. A perfect day

Matt’s Trip To Europe

Matt took a business trip (if you can call it that) to Germany, Switzerland and Italy. He spent a week traveling around Germany, a long weekend in Geneva, and a couple of days in Italy. It was an amazing experience that we hope we can repeat with all of us in tow.

Brian & Alicia’s Wedding

We’ve finally gotten around to posting some pics from Brian & Alicia’s wedding in May. It was a hectic trip for us, but we wouldn’t have missed the celebration for anything. And since we don’t get to see the extended family very often, it was doubly special for us. It was wonderful to see everyone, and we look forward to returning to the States permanently so it’s not so long between visits. Anyways, congratulations to Brian & Alicia!

Mother’s Day

We’ve had nearly a week of beautiful weather, and Mother’s Day was probably the best day of the whole week. Lauren decided she wanted Betty’s for a late lunch (try to act surprised), so we loaded up the family for a decadent meal and a walk through Valley Gardens. Campbell got her first wagon ride, and Brady went for a runabout. These are the kinds of days we’ll miss when we leave England.
