Summer Begins

We’ve enjoyed the sunlight until 1030pm as the summer creeped in, but we finally got some weather to match. Temperatures soared to the low 70’s (hey, weather is relative), so we dove into summer activities. We blew up a splash pool for some heat relief, joined Alice and James at the Big Sheep, Little Cow petting zoo, and had a Fourth of July BBQ with friends. Matt & Lauren even found time to row a small boat up the River Nidd.

Visiting the Bucks

Whew. The last leg of Lauren, Brady and Campbell’s whirlwind tour through the States brought them to Tennessee to visit the Bucks. They enjoyed splashing in the pool, blowing bubbles, and wrestling with Uncle Reid. Matt flew back for a one night visit, then accompanied the family back across the pond.

A short Florida vacation

The most recent extension to Matt’s contract meant that the family got to take a home leave trip back to Florida in early May. All four of us went back to Merritt Island, though Matt’s leave situation prevented him from traveling further with Lauren and the kids to North Carolina and Tennessee. It was a quick visit, but we managed to fit in a baseball game, a trip to the beach, and of course, a night away for Matt & Lauren. Sorry to all those we didn’t get to see, but with only six days, it felt like the clock was ticking the whole time. We miss you all and will see you again soon!

Campbell’s Latest Pro Shoot

We recently headed back to Studio A La Mode for a session with the photographer that took the photos for Brady’s first year. As you can see, there were some great shots of Campbell, including some dress up shots. He also provided the slideshows of both the family and Campbell sessions. Harewood House & Bilton Gala

Most of you know that Brady & Connie have known each other since they were 9 months old, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they are the best of friends. Of course, Campbell is part of the package too, and Connie has taken to her like a big sister. They got to spend some time together towards the end of April going to Harewood House and the Bilton Gala. There are only a few pics, but we thought they were all cute together.

April & Easter

Happy Easter! We’re starting to believe that Spring might actually return to the United Kingdom, and have taken advantage of the mild weather to spend more time at the playground and out and about. In fact, Matt and Brady recently took the train over to York, saw a Viking display and took a boat ride down the River Ouse, mostly just to get out of the house. The sun even cooperated on Easter morning, peaking through enough that Brady, Campbell and special guest Connie could scour the backyard for candy-filled eggs. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

March Mish-Mash

Lauren reminded me that the whole point of the Picasa/blog interface was to publish more photos more quickly. In that spirit, here are some quick pics and videos from the last couple of days that we thought you’d enjoy. Brady made a long train track that he wanted to surprise me with, then followed it up by requesting lunch in his room. This morning, Brady wanted to wear his cowboy boots to school (he insisted his pants be tucked in), and of course Campbell wanted to follow suit. To cap it off, Lauren recorded Brady & Campbell’s reaction to Daddy coming home from work. Everyone should be so lucky to have such a reception.

Our busy March

So, it’s been over a month since we’ve updated the site, and it’s been a busy one. Lauren and the kids hosted a playgroup that featured indoor watersports, Brady was home sick for a few days and created a universe out of his toys that grew larger with each successive day, and the whole family headed out to the Stray to fly a kite. In between all that, Brady celebrated Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day at school, Campbell’s vocabulary exploded, and Matt and Lauren traded various illnesses back and forth. The result of all this is a whopping 62 pictures and videos posted for the month. Oh, and we updated the Brady and Campbell At-A-Glance page. Hope you enjoy!
